As Chair of the ACT Black Spot Committee, I work to allocate funding to roads which are identified by the community as most urgently needing attention.

The Coalition Government has committed $744.5 million to the Black Spot Program from 2013−14 to 2021−22 to improve road safety across the nation.

In conjunction with the Assistant Minister for Roads and Transport, I have just announced the 6 projects that have received funding via the 2018-19 ACT Black Spot Program:

Hobart Ave/National Circuit – FORREST ($180K)

Boboyan Rd 550m north of Orroral Road towards Fitz’s Hill – BOOTH ($80K)

Masson St’McCaughey St – TURNER ($161,500K)

Barton Hwy/William Slim Drive and Bundaroo Drive to Bellenden St – CRACE ($113,700K)

Pialligo Ave/Scherger Dr to Air Disaster Memorial Dr – PIALLIGO ($91K)

Southern Cross Dr/Kingsford Smith Dr to Coulter Dr – FLOREY ($118K)

Black Spot projects are shown to reduce the number of crashes causing death and injury by an average of 30% and I am proud to be a part of a Government that is ensuring these much needed upgrades occur.

If there is a road or intersection near you that you think is particularly dangerous and needs to be fixed, please let me know and I will make sure it is considered in the next round of funding.
