Senator Zed Seselja will be encouraging local Canberra public schools to consider participating in the Coalition Government’s new $70 million Independent Public School initiative.

A Canberra based company, Plant Health Australia (PHA), has been awarded funding by the Federal Government to develop a national surveillance system for weeds and plant pests, an initiative that will help farmers across Australia to reduce farm costs, increase productivity and achieve greater returns at the farm gate.

Senator Zed Seselja will be doing his bit for the Shop Small campaign this month by helping out at a local café, Brewbar, on Anketell Street in Tuggeranong from 10:00am this Friday the 22nd of November.

Senator Zed Seselja will today launch Giralang Primary School’s DVD featuring the Rats of Tobruk. The DVD is a result of Giralang Primary winning a Department of Veterans Affairs Schools’ Grant to establish the Rats of Tobruk Memorial Wall. The ACT Rats of Tobruk Association and Giralang Primary School have had a relationship since 1999.

Reports today show that the Labor Party set in train 14,473 cuts to public service jobs prior to the election.  This illustrates that Senator Kate Lundy, a then member of cabinet, and her fellow Labor members – Gai Brodtmann and Andrew Leigh, openly lied to Canberrans about the jobs they were cutting.
