Senator Seselja praises local commemorative projects

Senator for the ACT, Zed Seselja, today announced two Canberra organisations would receive Government funding to support local community projects that honoured Australia’s military history.

Senator Seselja congratulated No 37 Squadron (RAAF) Association who received $1,770 and Dominion Yachtsmen Scheme 1939 – 1945 who received $1,769 to install plaques at the RAAF Memorial Grove in Majura and the Australian War Memorial as part of the Australian Government’s Saluting Their Service grants program to support their projects.

“These projects will help our local community honour the service and sacrifice of the men and women who defend our values and freedoms,” Senator Seselja said.

“As a community we must keep alive the Anzac spirit and teach future generations about our military history and the importance of reflecting on the price we have paid for our values and freedoms.

“I encourage any local community organisations interested in applying for funding under the Saluting Their Service grants program to contact the Department of Veterans’ Affairs’ Commemorative Grants team on 1800 026 185 or email This email address is being protected from spambots.
