Queen's Birthday Honour List


It was pleasing to see the good work of Canberrans be acknowledged publicly in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list on Monday. 

 

It is a significant achievement to be awarded a Queens Birthday Honour Award  – one which I am sure each of the recipients did not necessarily aspire to in making the contribution they made.

COMPANION (AC) IN THE GENERAL DIVISION

Professor Kenneth Charles FREEMAN Duffy ACT 2611 For eminent service to astronomy through pioneering contributions in the field of galactic archaeology, as a leading astrophysicist and researcher, to tertiary science education, to professional academies, and as a mentor of young scientists.
