Funding to help Veterans in Canberra


 

Senator for the ACT, Zed Seselja has announced Government funding for advocacy and welfare services for veterans in Canberra.

Senator the Hon. Zed Seselja said over $120,000 would go to Canberra organisations under the Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) grants program. The funds would help local ex-service organisations provide help and advice to the veteran community. 

“Our local ex-service organisations are making a real difference in the lives of veterans and ADF personnel by providing assistance relating to welfare services for veterans and serving members as well as their families and widowers” Senator Seselja said.

“This money will help fund salaries for trained advocates, essential office supplies, computer equipment, internet access and other administrative needs.

“The Government is committed to providing ongoing support for our veterans and current serving Australian Defence Force personnel and their families in Canberra” Senator Seselja concluded.

The following ACT community groups have received funding:

  • Legacy Club of Canberra Inc

  • Vietnam Veterans and Veterans Federation ACT Inc

  • RSL ACT Branch

  • DFWA – ACT Branch Inc
