Zed Pitches in this Clean Up Australia Day

Senator Zed Seselja is urging all Canberrans to be a part of Clean Up Australia Day this Sunday.

“This Sunday I will be joining my local ACT colleagues, Nicole Lawder MLA and Brendan Smyth MLA in cleaning up the rubbish around a section of Monash,” Senator Seselja said today.

“Last year over 4,660 Canberra volunteers got involved and collected over 224 tonnes of rubbish.

In the coming weeks the Government will be building on the theme of community conservation by calling for project ideas under our Green Army policy.

Like Clean Up Australia Day, the Green Army will make a real difference to the environment and local communities through projects such as restoring and protecting habitat, weeding, planting, cleaning up creeks and rivers and restoring cultural heritage places.

“I am committed to ensuring our city is looked after, and I’m encouraging everyone to join me this weekend.

“If you would like to help me clean up, you can meet me at 9:30am this Sunday, 2 March at the reserve opposite 41 William Hudson Crescent in Monash,” Senator Seselja concluded.
